It’s a pity that we Goans are yet to see good clean governance, heading into the 5th decade, of supposedly Goa’s freedom. It makes me wonder many a times, are we Goans really interested in having good governance in Goa?

“If you believe in fairy-tales, you become a part of it,” says the promo of the new Hindi film Aao Wish Karein posted on Facebook, the social networking site. A film which is interwoven around a 12-year-old child's desire to grow up.

The film which has been shot in Shimla, Manali, Mumbai and one song in Goa, is the second film as director for Glen Barretto, who traces his roots to Galgibaga village of Canacona Taluka.

The Mumbai Goan Association will celebrate Goa Day on 13th December 2009 at the Our Lady of Perpetual School quadrangle, Chembur, Mumbai from 10.30 am to 3:00 pm.

Panaji Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Mr. Edgar Fernandes today directed Goa’s advocate General Mr. Subodh Kantak to pay Social activist Adv. Aires Rodrigues costs of Rs 500 for seeking an adjournment of the cross examination which was scheduled for today. It is for the first time in India’s history that a court has had to impose costs on an Advocate General.

Ten days after the Margao bomb blast, no arrests have been made and no discernable action is being taken, either by the police or on the political front. The perpetrators and accomplices, besides the two dead, are as yet unknown. This has led to an increase in the sense of insecurity in the still shaken people of the state.

A function was organised at St Francis Xavier's School Auditorium on October 14, 2009, which was addressed by India's top fashion designer and chairman of Green Goa Works, Wendell Rodricks, Clinton Vaz (environmental consultant), Seby Rodrigues (mining activist) and others.

The interactive session was preceded by an entertaining cultural programme with "village environment" as the theme. 

The event was a part of the nascent Club's ongoing initiative to safeguard Siolim's environment and heritage.
