The Mumbai Goan Association will celebrate Goa Day on 13th December 2009 at the Our Lady of Perpetual School quadrangle, Chembur, Mumbai from 10.30 am to 3:00 pm.

Mumbai Goan Association (MGA) has coalesced into a veritable cauldron of palpable excitement for the Goan diasporas in Mumbai; that is nostalgically etched in their psychic literally, yearning for anything Goan.

This would include Mumbai City Limits, Thane City, Thane Central Side, Thane District Suburbs, Navi Mumbai City, Area from Navi Mumbai to Panvel City, Mira Road to Virar. 

The association formed recently to celebrate ‘World Goa Day’ 2009 is federated to the World Alliance of Goan Associations (WAGA) under the leadership of Mr. Rene Barreto.

The aim of the association is to join Mumbai Goans locally and internationally under one umbrella with a focus on celebrating unity that fosters brotherhood between all Goans, irrespective of creed thereby reiterating the unique ‘Goan Identity’ that endears to the world. The association thereby promotes ‘Konkani’ among Goans through art and drama keeping in mind the assistance that may be required to further Goan enterprise in all spheres of life leading to holistic wellbeing of the community and its state building a world class India in time to come.
