The Village Tinto is a community platform by citizens and for citizens. This is a citizens media effort.

If you believe in the power of alternative citizens' media and like what you see in the Village Tinto, help us make this platform sustainable and more compelling.

We run mainly on the efforts of volunteers and a virtual office but need full-time editors to ensure greater coverage. For this we could do with funds.

Besides that, we would also like to fund journalists to do special stories that are of concern to Goa.

1. Fund the Editorial Desk:

Our volunteer editors scour the net for news and content on Goa or by Goans. In addition, we need to sift and vet material submitted to us to ensure a safe and clean environment for all. This is a lot of effort. You could help sustain this work by funding the editorial desk. 

2. Fund a Beat:

The Village Tinto seeks to create original content on Goa using various media - text, video and images. Of particular interest is content of concern to communities in Goa - Environment, Health, Education, Culture etc. This content will be freely available to other organisations. But working on special stories costs us money. You could help us offset our costs by funding a beat -environment, education, development, Law & order, tourism, and governance (state & local) etc. By funding a beat, you can help us ensure we are in a position to follow where the story leads us, helping expose the truth.

3. Fund Administrative Costs:

Running this website, paying for the server, developing and maintaining the site - all of this is purely voluntary. You could help by funding administrative and technical costs, so we could buy equipment (video cameras, recorders etc) and pay for professional services to help us grow and serve the community better.
