The tourism season has just begun and law and order scene looks grim with these murders of single women cropping up. “If you believe in fairy-tales, you become a part of it,” says the promo of the new Hindi film Aao Wish Karein posted on Facebook, the social networking site. A film which is interwoven around a 12-year-old child's desire to grow up.

The film which has been shot in Shimla, Manali, Mumbai and one song in Goa, is the second film as director for Glen Barretto, who traces his roots to Galgibaga village of Canacona Taluka.

“Where are our youth today” may seem like a rather simplistic question. But if asked in an implicit manner, it is probably a question that should get each of us thinking. More so as the YWCA works with young women of all social strata to address issues that surround their lives.

Goan Konkani music stalwart Sidhanath Buyao will perform a musical show with his troupe at Kalangan-Mangalore, on 1st November, on the occasion of award presentation of Mandd Sobhann.

Ten days after the Margao bomb blast, no arrests have been made and no discernable action is being taken, either by the police or on the political front. The perpetrators and accomplices, besides the two dead, are as yet unknown. This has led to an increase in the sense of insecurity in the still shaken people of the state.
