4 offshore casinos face closure in state

Show cause notices were issued to four off-shore casinos for not submitting the documents required to renew their no objection certificate (NOC) for plying in River Mandovi.

The notices were served to Pride of Goa, Casino Royale, San Domino and Kings Casino.

The Captain of Ports has asked them to submit relevant documents within seven days, failing which action would be initiated against them, a senior official said.

"As per the files submitted to us, Casino Royale, Casino Rio, M V Pride of Goa and M V San Domino do not have their certificates in order," Lyndon Monteiro officer on special duty to the ports minister told Times of India.
