Aldona MLA Dayanand Narvekar stunned the Digambar Kamat government by lambasting it on its industrial policy and budget, adding that bars and taverns are the only flourishing businesses in the state.
Stating that no new industries were coming to the state, Narvekar said, "Goa is the last on the list of all India industries' association. With the chief minister heading the industries department, industrialists should have come running to the state to set up industries. In this situation, the youth have no other option but to get into prostitution, bars and taverns and massage parlours. Bars and taverns are the only businesses flourishing in the state."

Don't forget taxi drivers!
Besides bars and taverns flourishing, the other most popular business for Goans is driving cabs. That's another way to fleese the golden goose.
The reason for this is not just lack of industry options for today's youth in Goa but also lack of quality education. What our politicians want is to fight over medium of instruction and other such matters while letting the overall quality slip by the day.
