The chief conservator of forests, Mr Shashi Kumar has submitted to government the details of all illegal mining activities being carried out in the state by various persons, in five reports covering every aspect of the Goan mining industry. Two more reports are in the process of being forwarded to the government.

It may be recalled that last year, the state government had appointed a high-level committee headed by Mr Shashi Kumar to investigate into all the mining activities in the state.
