The government on Monday informed the House about the plan to bring about administrative reforms in its various departments.
Departments under review include directorates of accounts, fire and emergency services, art and culture and transport, besides departments of registration, Captain of Ports and electricity, and educational institutions like Polytechnics.
It was informed, the directorate of accounts has been partly computerised as a part of entire computerisation project while the directorate of fire and emergency services intends to implement decentralisation of some of its functions such as fire prevention, building regulations and related matters and implementation of the Fire Force Act.
