Rural healthcare set to get booster

Working in rural areas may become more attractive. Doctors and nurses working in rural centres can now expect additional pay.

Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said as per the National Rural Health Mission guidelines medical and paramedical staff working in rural areas would be paid additional pay.

Depending on qualifications and experience, doctors would be paid additional salary ranging between Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 while the nursing staff would get additional salary of Rs 5,000 per month.
