Two more cases of swine flu were detected in Goa on Wednesday, taking the total number of persons testing positive to the H1N1 virus in the state to five.
One of the cases is of a 40-year-old man employed in South Goa who had come in contact with the 20-year-old man, who tested positive for the virus last week. Health officials said the patient was suspected to have contracted the virus from the seafarer who was seated next to him on a flight from Mumbai to Goa. They had arrived in the state on July 14. Health authorities said they are not related to each other.
The other patient is a 30-year-old man, also from South Goa who was referred to the health services by a private practitioner from Margao. A seafarer, this person had travelled from London to Goa and had arrived in Goa on July 18.
