Sebastian D'Cruz, the  "Chronicler of Siolim" died on Monday. He was 83.

Noted Konkani scholar and former acting vice-chancellor of the Goa University, Dr Olivinho Gomes passed away after a brief illness on Thursday. He was 66 years old.  

Vishwasrao Dattaji Chowgule, who passed away on Saturday, was a doyen of Goan mining industry who also proved his vision by diversifying into several other fields including print media, education, breweries and so on.

Born on August 25, 1915, late Vishwasrao was a man of vision, tremendous business acumen and rare courage to embrace opportunities in the face of great risks. He had risen to an eminent international position, literally from the lowest rung.
