Health officials at the Candolim Primary Health Centre stepped up measures to curb the spread of dengue in the area. The action follows the death of a 6-year old boy from Calangute.

Six-year old Godfrey Fernandes of Calangute succumbed to dengue  on Thursday, becoming the first victim in Goa.

The Calangute police on Monday served notice on reputed Goan artist Subodh Kerkar to “desist from getting involved in such activities which may insult religious feelings or religious beliefs”.
